Q1: What is the lifespan of MHPOWOS 25.6V 100A LiFePO4 lithium battery?
A:
MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium battery can be used for 4000-15000 life cycles. Depending on usage, it can be used 10 years or more. Lead acid and AGM get roughly 300-500 life cycles before their capacity is reduced substantially. Therefore, even though there is more upfront cost with a MHPOWOS LiFePO4 Battery, the upgraded saves you big in a long run.
Q2: How do I know what size of LiFePO4 lithium battery I need?
A:
It's more about what your priorities are. MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium battery has about twice the capacity as lead acid and AGM batteries. So, if your goal is to get more runtime (Amps) then you should upgrade to a battery with the same Amps (or more). I.e. if you replace a 100amp battery with a MHPOWOS 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Lithium Battery, you will get about double the amps, and half the weight. If your goal is to have a smaller size battery, much less weight, or less expensive. Then you can replace the 100amp battery with a MHPOWOS 12V 50AH LiFePO4 Lithium Battery. You will get about the same runtime, but cost less, and it's about 1/6 the weight. Refer to the spec sheet for dimensions or email us with further questions or custom needs.
Q3: Are MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries safe?
A:
Yes. LiFePO4 is an inherently safe chemistry and the most stable lithium-type battery on the market. MHPOWOS lithium cells are UL certified for the highest safety and sustainability standards. All MHPOWOS LiFePO4 batteries come with an internal Battery Management System which protects against under-voltage during discharge, over-voltage during charge, over-current during discharge, over-temperature during charge and discharge, and short-circuit protection – protects battery cells from damage. Additionally, MHPOWOS LiFePO4 Lithium batteries have been tested to be free from the risk of fire, and electric shock in harsh environments.
Q4: Can I use MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries as starting batteries?
A:
No. MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.
Q5: Can I charge MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries wiith solar panels?
A:
Yes, you can charge MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels. You should size your charge controller based on the voltage and current output of your solar array setup. That will ensure that your charge controller can process and regulate the power coming from your solar panels. Take a 24V MAX. 22 amps output solar system as example. You would need a solar charge controller that can handle 24 volts and 27.5 amps (125% of your max current output).
Q6: Can I charge MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?
A:
LiFePO4 batteries can safely charge between 41°F to 113°F (5°C to 45°C). MHPOWOS 12V 100Ah Smart LiFePO4 batteries include the low-temperature charging protection which will automatically cut the battery charging off when the cell temperature is lower than 32℉, thus preventing the battery cells from damage when charging under the freezing point. If necessary (not recommended), you can push the low-temp protection button twice, then the BMS would allow your battery to charge under the freezing point for emergency use.
Q7: How do I store MHPOWOS LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
A:
It is recommended to store MHPOWOS LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries are stored for long periods, recharge the batteries at least every 3 months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃~35℃ (50℉~95℉), 45%RH~75%RH
